TRAVEL TO MARINAS AND CHECK IN

prepare for your boating holiday

Travel to Marinas

Carrickcraft offers transfers to the Marinas from Dublin airport in order that our customers have reasonably priced transport at optimum times.  It is not always easy, or cheap, to reach the marinas by public transport.

ARRIVING BY CAR

arriving by car

It is very easy to drive to any of our marinas and we offer free outdoor parking.  If you are arriving by car, we recommend that you start and finish your cruise from the same marina for convenience.

If you are doing a one-way trip, you will need transport back to your starting point.

There is no public transport, but we can arrange taxi transfers – contact the Reservations Office for assistance.

We offer scheduled transfers to and from Dublin airport every day except Sunday.

Buses leave Dublin airport between 12 noon and 6pm and leave the marina between 6am and 10am.  If you are travelling outside these times, we can arrange a private transfer by taxi/minibus.

If you have booked a transfer, the driver will meet you in the arrivals hall of Dublin airport with a Carrickcraft sign.  The journey time from Dublin airport to any of our marinas is 2-3 hours.

Check-in and Check-out

We aim to make the check-in and check-out process as quick and easy as possible

Checking-in

Marina, Carrick on Shannon

The check-in time is normally between 4pm and 5pm. It may be possible to arrange an earlier check-in on request, depending on when the boat is returned from the previous hire, but this cannot be guaranteed.

We will always do our best to have the boat ready as early as possible.  Please be patient if the cruiser is not ready when you arrive and be assured that we want you to be on your way as quickly as you want to leave.

If you are arriving after 5pm, please inform the Marina of your estimated time of arrival so that alternative arrangements can be made for checking in.

Insurance to be paid on arrival

Kilkenny Boat Hire

Although all cruisers are insured, a certain amount of liability always remains with the hirer. This amount varies from €1200 to €1750 and may be reduced to an amount between €150 and €250, according to the type of cruiser

This liability has to be left in the form of a deposit, paid by cash or credit card.  We cannot accept cheques.

This insurance does not cover hirer belongings or personal injury.

Check-out

In order that there is enough time to check out and re-fuel the cruiser, we recommend that you return to the marina at least 1 hour prior to office closing times on the day before the last day of hire or by prior agreement no later than 9am on the morning of the last day of hire.

All cruisers must be vacated clean and re-fuelled before 10 am on the last day of hire. The deposit may be forfeited if this condition is not adhered to.
